Billabong Presents 2012 LST Champions

With an unexpected rapid decline of swell that was unforeseen by all avaible surf forecast reports for the 2012 Lembongan Surf Team Contest; could not dampen the true sportsmanship and pure stoke that exuded thru the team as they took to the water in the most challenging conditions that any experienced surfer faces, at 1 to 2 feet.
Determined to display their ability to adapt to the oceans forever changing conditions, as every competitive surfer must – the crowds were not disappointed as each team member pushed the others limits, with sequences of hard and fast manoeuvres, until the champions of the day finally emerged.

The Grommet final would see;

2. Donat 2nd
3. Satria 3rd
4. Dede 4th

The Open final would see;

1. Pulu 1st
2. Balon 2nd
3. Wala 3rd
4. Dekagus 4th

The Masters final would see;

1. Werdi 1st
2. Kemud 2nd
3. Planet 3rd
4. Merog 4th

Speciality awards were presented to;
Putu Agus from the Grommet divison, for the most promising talent to emerge.
Robot, for the best Airshow, a great achievement in difficult conditions,
Balon, Widiana, Evan & Donat, for their dedication towards LST’s weekly beach clean-up.

With traditional Balianesse dancers opening the evening award
ceremony, a banquet and live DJ music; sponsors, officals, competitors and guests enjoyed a nite that would equal an ASP gala event
Billabong would like to acknowledge LST’s commitment and dedication of preserving their pristine beach’s, coral reefs and waters, by announcing an “Expression Session” to be held, for 1 day only, on the next expected solid day of swell (possibly Saturday August 25th) at “Lacerations”, where deep hollow waves break over a shallow razor sharp coarl reef; allowing all competitors the opportunity to put forth a display of truly extraodionary surfing.
